These assemblies include a resilient and durable top pad, an
anti-abrasion plate, a sand resistant and water repellent gasket,
and the side post insulators. All components are assembled on snap
fit restraining lugs to ensure security during shipping and service
life and arrive at the job site as a single unit. The system is
designed to seal out sand, dirt and water from the rail seat.
Interlocking studs and dimples, which are an integral part of the
plastic plate and pad, resist differential movement of the parts
and improve longitudinal restraint. The pad shown is used with the
SAFELOK III fastener.
PANDROL® Three-Part Abrasion Resistant Assembly
PANDROL offers a Three-Part System designed to control abrasion on
new concrete ties. The system virtually eliminates rail seat abrasion.
The Rail Seat Abrasion system is generally used in heavy-haul freight service in curves of five degrees or greater. The patented assembly consists of a polyurethane pad, steel abrasion plate and a foam gasket to seal out dirt and water. The system can be used with the company's FASTCLIP, SAFELOK I, SAFELOK III and 'e' clip fasteners.
PANDROL® Two-Part Abrasion Resistant Assembly
The new, Two-Part Assembly is designed to control rail seat abrasion on concrete ties. The patented, new system consists of a tough, abrasion resistant plastic bottom plate and a durable, resilient rail seat pad. The interlocking plate and pad are preassembled without the use of glue or tape and arrive at the job site as a single unit.
The system is designed to seal out sand, dirt and water from the
rail seat. Interlocking studs and dimples, which are an integral
part of the plastic plate and pad, resist movement in track. A
saddle version of the new system is available for deep rail seat
abrasion repair.
